Hundreds of youths within Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State are set to benefit from the ongoing Nnewi Youth Digital Skills Bootcamp, sponsored by Hon. Ekene Iwuchukwu, as part of his philanthropic gestures.
The 3 – day event, which kicked off on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at Uru Community Hall Nnewi, witnessed a massive youth turnout ranging from 16 years and above and would be concluding on Friday, April 17, 2026.
Speaking at the event, the Sponsor Hon. Ekene Iwuchukwu said the world is changing, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) remains a bridge that connects a semi -rural town to the global stage.
He said he was motivated to sponsor the program to connect the youths to the digital world and to empower them with skills to better their lives.
“You don’t need to be a skycrapper to build the next big app or solve a global crisis, rather you only need a vision and courage to start ” he noted.
Iwuchukwu further stated that he would expand the program more to enlighten young people on technology that has taken over the world.
He disclosed that the beneficiaries would be equipped with skills, like Web development, Data analysis, Product design, AI engineering, among others.
Iwuchukwu Divine Ifunanya, a Software developer and the organiser of the event said the training was organised to empower the youths with skills they would use to generate money in the future.
She noted that they organised the program to assist the young ones to start their journey in digital world, adding that the trainees would be trained in web development, product design, data analysis and AI engineering.
