Former governor of Anambra state, Jim Nwobodo, has expressed his joy after former vice president of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, was elected presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) with 371 votes and with the support of Sokoto governor, Aminu Tambuwal, who stepped down for him in the final minutes.
When Jim Nwobodo was showing his happiness, according to Bellnews online, he claimed that the win of Atiku gave him the confidence that power would go back to the PDP in 2023 as Atiku would use his experience to defeat the candidates of other parties.
He claimed that it would be better for Igbo people to settle on and vote for Atiku Abubakar because, if he wins, the Igbo people has also win because he surely knows that Atiku will carry Igbo people on in his government.
The Igbo presidency that people are clamouring for is only possible in the PDP, unlike in other parties, because Igbo people cannot be overlooked when talking about the building of the party.
Nwobodo who don’t believe in third force parties say that in all countries there are always two giant parties who compete with themselves, and there is no way a smaller party will come and take over the power from the two giant parties that people have already known.
He also urges easterners to support Atiku to make it to Aso Villa because, aside from the fact that Atiku is capable of changing Nigeria’s narrative, he will also carry Igbos along in his government, and an Igbo presidency is very possible with the PDP.
