Why I Refused To Step Down For Peter Obi – Rabiu Kwankwaso

The Presidential Candidate of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso has explained why he refused to step down for the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi.

Speaking on why he couldn’t accept the offer to become Peter Obi’s running mate, Rabiu Kwankwaso stated they the mood in the North is that presidency should still return to the region.

He said: “At the moment, the mood in the North today is that the presidency should be in the North. That is why I couldn’t accept to be his running mate.”

Recall that several weeks ago, their were ongoing talks about a possible meger between the New Nigeria People’s Party and Labour Party, as to who would step down and accept the vice president slot between the two aspirants.

Unfortunately, no agreement could be reached as both Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, were not willing to step down from the presidential race.
