Come Wednesday, the 25th of January 2023, the people of Nnewi and environs, especially the Corporate Mothers will be witnessing something novel in the form of Breast Pump that can extract breast milk from Nursing Mothers into feeding bottles and kept for their babies to enjoy, when they are away for long hours. In a brief chat with bellnewsonline.com Lady Ebele Ejike an Assistant Director of Nursing at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi and an Assistant Representative of OCI/ SweetHome Foundations has this to say about the program: ” We are planning to showcase and infact give Nursing Mothers this Breast Pump. It helps mothers a lot especially the working class mothers. It will help them to express their breast milk, so that their babies will be well fed and lacking nothing.”. On how it works, she replied:” It’s not magic. And it’s not like any other Breast Pump.
This one by AVEAT is very comfortable. It works naturally by gripping the areola.( The area surrounding the nipples). Then you press the the handle, that is like a pump and once you press it down, it will extract the milk from the breast into a bottle, like a feeding bottle and that will go a long way to feeding the baby. If you know that you are going to stay long hours away from your baby, this is what to do. You can extract and store, because I know that breast milk that is stored, can stay up to 8 hours without anything happening to it.” On the benefits, she replied:”It will help the baby and the mother to feed very well. Your baby will not lack nutritionally.”
On what she is telling the mothers:”I encourage the Nursing Mothers to take advantage of this upcoming event, which will take place at the SweetHome Plaza,No.8, Owerri Rd Nkwo Nnewi, Anambra State, to come and benefit and enjoy the free donation from LyndakeyfFoundation.”. In his contribution, the Senior Special Assistant to Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah on Persons With Special Needs,Hon. Amobi Okonkwo ( Anunuebe Nnewi) has this to say:”
As can be seen,we are here to brainstorm on a program that is geared towards putting smiles on the faces of Corporate Nursing Mothers. And Senator Ifeanyi Ubah as we all know is a Humanitarian Servant. His Foundation has continued to put smiles on the faces of the less privileged in the society. That’s why he’s in partnership with the SweetHome,OCI and Lyndakeys Foundations. As we all know, we’ve known the immense benefits of breastfeeding to babies and the mothers.
And that is why these Foundations have come together to help make sure we encourage the breastfeeding mothers. It is not easy, so,we deemed it fit to bring up this program. By God’s grace, we are already adding some flavour to it by discussing the possibilities of having Medical Check-ups ,Basic Treatments and so on.
So,we are praying for more Sponsors, and Donors to come in so that we can actualize our vision for this particular program, we have at hand. We call on the well to do Individuals in our society to key into the this vision in order to make sure we reach out to those we are targeting in the course of this event. Thank you.”
