Shanay-timpishka: There are so many fascinating things on earth, including a boiling river that is capable of killing any animal.

This river is located in the Amazonian rainforest in Peru, and it is known by locals as Shanay-timpishka, which means “boiled with the heat of the Sun”.

This river has been in existence for over 50 years, and it is regarded as a sacred river by locals.

Research shows that it reaches an average temperature of 186 degrees Fahrenheit, which makes it capable of boiling an egg.

This river has remained a mystery to so many people because there’s no volcano close to the river which causes it to boil.

Research shows that the river is 700km away from the closest volcano system, and it’s the only river of its kind.

This river is about 25 metres wide and six metres deep, and some parts are hotter than others.

Even though locals believe that the river is affected by supernatural occurrences, a Peruvian geoscientist, Andrés Ruzo, who spent over two years studying the river believes that its boiling nature is caused by fault-fed hot springs

Since its discovery many years ago, many people from different parts of the world have visited the site to see the wonders of the river, there are communities in the area with beliefs that the river has healing powers, and they perform sacrifices close to it.
