According to a report by Bellnews, the former Lagos State Governor and presidential candidate of the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu has said that in the history of Nigeria, there has never been a time when a Lagos State indigene has had the chance to be elected as the president of Nigeria.
He noted that he wanted to broke the jinx and became the first Lagos State indigene to emerged as the president of the country in the 2023 presidential election.
He said that despite the facts that Lagos State has contributed to Nigeria’s stability and progress, the highest political office and position attained by any Lagos State indigene, especially in national leadership was the position of Chief Judge of the Federation.
He further added that he joined the presidential race in order to broke the jinx.
He admitted there was a gang up against his candidacy prior to the ruling party presidential primary election, but he fought so hard to emerged as the presidential candidate of the party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He said it was time for political actors and leaders in Southwest geopolitical zones to closed ranks and work for his victory at the 2023 presidential election.
