Scorpion have been responsible for quite a fair number of deaths in Africa. Their terrible venom makes their stings almost as lethal as a snake bite.
Scorpions are almost unnoticeable, unlike snakes due to their little size. This means a scorpion can be in the house without you actually knowing its there.
Most scorpion sting cases actually happen without the victim’s knowledge.
This piece takes a look at what to do if you accidentally get stung by a scorpion;
Do not panic
Panicking during attacks only makes the matter worse. You might have minor problems, like pain, swelling, numbness, and tingling at the site.
Put Ice on the area to bring down the swelling
Take an antihistermine or use a hydrocortisone cream to reduce the inflammation and itching.
Seek medical attention as soon as possible.
Some people also practice the act of cutting an opening in the bite region and attempt to suck the venom out. This process is not really safe, as if not properly done, the victim might put himself in more danger.
Remember, the best way to stay away from scorpion stings is to keep a clean environment, wear shoes constantly, and fumigate your surroundings regularly.
Stay safe folks!!!
