Two individuals, yet to be identified, sustained varying degrees of injuries in an accident at the Simpson Bridge heading towards Sura in Lagos State. The incident, which occurred around 10:40 am on Thursday, resulted from impatience on the part of both drivers, according to information gathered by PUNCH Metro.

A video shared on the official Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) X handle displayed the aftermath of the collision, revealing a truck split in half, with removed tires and a shattered windscreen. Adebayo Taofiq, the Public Relations Officer for LASTMA, explained in an interview with PUNCH Metro that the accident was a consequence of impatience exhibited by both drivers.

The vehicles involved were a water tanker with registration number AAA-422YB and a Toyota Camry with registration number LSB-13HF. Dolphin Estate police officers provided security cover, and LASTMA officials were present to manage the situation and prevent traffic congestion.

Taofiq described the accident as serious, with significant damage to the trucks, but the injuries sustained by the victims were minor. The water truck has been removed from the road. Taofiq emphasized the importance of drivers exercising patience on the roads to avoid such incidents.
