In a significant operation, the Joint Task Force, North-West, Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD), has achieved a commendable feat by rescuing 13 kidnapped victims and apprehending 11 suspected logistics suppliers connected to a notorious terrorist kingpin in Zamfara State.
According to a statement released on Monday by Captain Yahaya Ibrahim, the spokesperson for Operation Hadarin Daji, the combined troops conducted a search and rescue operation on December 17, 2023, along Gobirawan Chali and Dangulbi areas along the Dansadau axis in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State. During this operation, the troops successfully rescued 13 kidnapped victims who had been abandoned by fleeing terrorists in the late hours of Sunday.
All the rescued victims, hailing from Mutunji village in Dansadau Emirate, Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State, are currently undergoing medical treatment and debriefing. Captain Ibrahim emphasized that the rescued individuals have been handed over to the representative of the Zamfara State government for the purpose of reuniting them with their families.
In addition to the successful rescue mission, the resilient troops cleared a notorious terrorists’ hideout at Gidan Jaja in Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State, further contributing to the ongoing efforts to enhance security in the region.
Furthermore, Operation Hadarin Daji troops arrested 11 suspected terrorists’ logistics suppliers who were involved in supplying logistics to the notorious terrorist Halilu Sububu. The arrest took place at Kwanar Boko in Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State. The suspects were apprehended while transporting 127 bags of grains in two Canter trucks belonging to the said terrorist kingpin, Halilu Sububu. The arrested individuals are currently undergoing preliminary interrogation as part of the ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist networks and ensure the safety of the region.
