President Bola Tinubu has embarked on a journey from Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, to partake in the grand finale of the week-long commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) in Kaduna.

This update was shared by the State House media office on Saturday morning, as President Tinubu headed towards Kaduna to join in the celebrations.

The NDA began its Diamond Jubilee festivities earlier, unveiling an emblem and crest on February 5th to mark six decades since its establishment. The commemorative events took place at the NDA Auditorium in Afaka.

The occasion saw the presence of NDA alumni, former Commandants, both serving and retired military personnel, members of various security and paramilitary agencies, and representatives from different institutions. Among the distinguished attendees was Major General Rabiu Aliyu (retd.), a member of the pioneer Regular Course 1 of 1964, who served as the Special Guest of Honour.

After attending the NDA Anniversary event, Tinubu is scheduled to return to Abuja on the same day. Subsequently, he will proceed to Abidjan, the capital of Côte d’Ivoire, to witness the AFCON final match between Nigeria and the host nation.
