President Bola Tinubu conveyed warm birthday greetings to Dr. Zacch Adedeji, Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), as he marks his 46th birthday on January 8.

The congratulatory message from Tinubu was shared through a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale. The statement, titled “President Tinubu congratulates FIRS Chairman, Zacch Adedeji, on birthday,” highlighted Adedeji’s impressive background.

Born on January 8, 1978, in Oyo State, Adedeji is an alumnus of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, where he studied Accounting. Notably, he served as the Commissioner for Finance in Oyo State from 2011 to 2015 during the administration of former Governor Abiola Ajimobi.

Ngelale’s statement emphasized Adedeji’s outstanding qualities as a first-class graduate of accounting, highlighting his ascent in public service through hard work, loyalty, and competence. The President acknowledged Adedeji’s roles as the Commissioner of Finance in Oyo State at the age of 33, CEO of the National Sugar Development Council, Special Adviser to the President on Revenue, and presently, the Chief Executive Officer of FIRS.

Tinubu praised Adedeji as an innovative individual who translates creative ideas into impactful actions. Describing him as a practitioner of the ‘think-and-do’ philosophy of changemakers, the President expressed confidence in Adedeji’s ability to reform Nigeria’s tax system for the benefit of its citizens.

President Tinubu concluded the message by extending best wishes to the FIRS Chairman, hoping for more strength and dedication in the discharge of his duties.
