Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, is contemplating a transformative move to establish free Wi-Fi zones in major cities across Anambra State, aiming to propel the state into a technologically advanced era. This initiative, termed Solution Wi-Fi, represents a significant step towards realizing the state’s digital potential and fulfills promises outlined in the People’s Manifesto.

In collaboration with Pineheight Systems Limited (PHSWEB), the Anambra State ICT Agency is spearheading the pilot phase of Solution Wi-Fi, aligning with Governor Soludo’s vision of a digitally inclusive future for all. The initiative, operational in key locations such as Aroma Junction, Book Foundation, and UNIZIK Back gate in Awka during its pilot phase, offers users one hour of complimentary internet access daily, fostering educational and business opportunities.

Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata, CFA, Managing Director/CEO of the Anambra State ICT Agency, underscores the broader mission of enhancing internet accessibility across society, particularly in educational institutions and public spaces. The initiative aims to empower businesses, students, and the youth to leverage high-speed internet for content creation and economic growth.

Accessing the Solution Wi-Fi is streamlined for both businesses and individuals, requiring SMS authentication for a one-time setup process. This pioneering effort reflects Anambra State’s dedication to technological advancement, recognized nationally with prestigious awards for digital technology development and infrastructure.

Governor Soludo’s commitment to technological investment positions Anambra State as a beacon of innovation in Nigeria, with the State ICT Agency poised to drive further progress and prosperity through technological innovation.
