The Anambra State former Governor and presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi, has asked a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos State to clear out an application seeking to stop his supporters from staging their proposed one-million-march in Lagos State.
Bellnewsonline.com had earlier reported that 10 plaintiffs including nine legal practitioners had asked the court to stop Labour Party; Peter Obi; his running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed; Labour Party’s National Chairman, Julius Abure, and their supporters from holding their planned rally in Lagos State.
Justice Daniel Osiagor had subsequently adjourned the case till 28th September 2022 (Today), after he had taken arguments from both sides on the mode of the service of the court processes, among others.
However, in a preliminary objection tabled before the court on Tuesday, 27th September 2022, by Peter Obi’s legal representative, Mr Alex Ejesieme (SAN), the Labour Party’s flag bearer prayed the court to dismiss the application on grounds that the court lacks the jurisdiction to hear the case, and the plaintiffs lack locus standi to seek such an injunction in the first place, said it is an abuse of court processes.
