Yesterday, Tuesday the 13th of June 2023, history was made in Nigeria as Members of the National Assembly were sworn in.
After the formal swearing in ceremony at the National Assembly, a grand reception was held for the Distinguished Senator Representing Anambra South Senatorial District, Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah at De Rainbow Event Marquee, Garki, Abuja (FCT) amidst splendour and elegance.
People came from far and near to attend the occasion. In his welcome address, the Prince of the Senate stated that he would make his speech very brief because a lot of activities had been lined up for the night, nevertheless, he made the point very clear that today he has been proved right before the world.
He made reference to the people that wanted to keep Anambra State in perpetual bondage, but he thanked God for the Policemenn that intervened.
He said he had to endure tear gas and all forms of intimidation and harassment just for him to make sure that the mandate is properly secured.
He mentioned that it was Sir Emeka Offor who called the Inspector General of Police to get the thugs booted out of the state.
He emphasised that Anambra South is gradually achieving her goals through his contacts, grace, strength, energy and vision, because he wants to liberate his people.
In his words:”They should allow my people to go. They should let Anambra South to be liberated. It is not about politics.
It is not about money. What I make in politics is not up to one percent of what I was making as a Businessman.
It is the love I have for my people that is driving me. Before I went into politics,I sponsored many Governors and many Presidents, because of my passion to liberate my people.
Upon this, there no Government anywhere whether State or Federal that can say they have given me Contract.
I sacrificed Capital Oil and Gas and many other things to secure and to keep this mandate.
One thing I know is that it is God that gives power” Commenting on the Event and the Person of the Distinguished Senator,, the President General of Umunwanyi Igbo Amaka Worldwide, Her Excellency, Dr.(Mrs). Oluchukwu Elijah Ojukwu stated that Senator Dr.Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah is the Greatest thing that has ever happened to the politics and leadership of Anambra State.
She further pointed out that:”Since the emergence of Senator Dr Ifeanyi Ubah on the political space, everything within the Constituency have turned around, especially in the area of Security.
That is why I have been throwing my weight behind him right from his first tenure.
I have been supporting him all along and this time around, I want to re-assure him that all the members of Umunwanyi Igbo Amaka, both those in Nigeria and in the diaspora have thrown their weights behind him as he goes for another term.
I also want to state that the Distinguished Senator deserves it.
There has never been any elected Political Officer who has shown so much zeal and passion like Senator Ifeanyi Ubah and my prayer is that the Almighty will grant him the wisdom and grace to work smartly in order for him to achieve our collective goal.
I wish him success and the best of luck as he goes in for a second tenure. I say kudos and more grease to his elbows”
