Enugu State Police Command has taken into custody a 66-year-old individual named Jonathan Emejulu on charges of willful destruction of a section of the perimeter fence surrounding the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu. The arrest, as well as that of another male suspect, was executed by police operatives on Sunday, according to a statement released by DSP Daniel Ndukwe, the spokesperson for the Command, in Enugu.
The recovered exhibits from the suspects include two pickaxes, five Monday hammers, two shovels, and reinforcement bars. Ndukwe has affirmed that both individuals will face legal proceedings once the investigations are finalized, and they are set to be arraigned in court.
The police spokesman added that further updates on the case will be communicated as developments unfold.
