Federal Government Announces Collaboration with Oil Marketers for Fuel Distribution

The Federal Government has revealed that seven major oil marketers in Nigeria have partnered with the Dangote Refinery for the distribution of refined petroleum products. This information was conveyed in a statement posted on X, the former Twitter handle, by Dada Olusegun, the Special Assistant on Social Media to the President, on Monday.

According to the statement, the Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN) members, including 11 Plc, Conoil Plc, Ardova Plc, MRS Oil Nigeria Plc, OVH Energy Marketing Limited, Total Nigeria Plc, and NNPC Retail, have expressed their readiness to commence fuel distribution once commercial terms are finalized. Additionally, the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) plans to engage in discussions with the refinery regarding loading terms.

The statement highlighted the capacity of the Dangote Refinery to load 2,900 trucks daily, adhering to Euro V specifications. It emphasized that the refinery design aligns with global standards set by the World Bank, US EPA, European emission norms, and Department of Petroleum Resources emission/effluent norms, utilizing advanced technology.

Furthermore, the Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) confirmed ongoing discussions with the management of the Dangote Refinery regarding the supply of products from the facility. The collaboration aims to enhance the distribution network and availability of refined petroleum products in Nigeria.
