Our People Ran Out of Owo Market to Avoid Reprisal Attack – Hausa Traders Abubakar Aliyu

Days after the attack on St Francis Catholic Church in Ondo, majority of Huasa traders in Owo market have ran to northern part of the country.

One of the Hausa traders in the market Abubakar Aliyu confirmed the development while speaking with BBC News Yoruba in an exclusive interview.

He said majority of the traders in the market are peace loving people who didn’t know anything about the attack that happened in St Francis Catholic Church.

Aliyu who hails from Sokoto state said some of their perishable goods are not in good shape.

Yusuf Sani who hails from Zamfara State also spoke with BBC News Yoruba that he attended primary school and secondary school in Owo town.

He said he has been part of the town since he was young and would never wish something bad happen to the community.

Hausa traders appreciated Olowo of Owo for the role he played to ensure safety of Huasa people in the community.
