In a collaborative effort between the Air Component of Operation Hadarin Daji and the 17 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, a decisive operation was executed last week, resulting in the elimination of numerous terrorists and the obliteration of their enclave situated on Tora Hills in Safana Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, the Director of Public Relations and Information, released a statement highlighting that the Nigerian Air Force aircraft initiated the assault on the location, followed by ground troops effectively conducting mop-up operations to neutralize fleeing terrorists.
Gabkwet emphasized that assessments of the Battle Damage, along with feedback from various sources, indicated that the air strikes substantially degraded the terrorists’ capabilities. This degradation, in turn, facilitated a smooth clearance operation by the troops of the 17 Brigade of the Nigerian Army.
The joint operation not only led to the elimination of several terrorists and the destruction of their hideouts on the hill but also enabled the ground troops to ascend and clear Tsora Hill. This hill had previously served as a sanctuary for terrorists in Safana Local Government Area.
