A few days back, an attack on the Kuje Correctional Centre gave room for several inmates, including Boko Haram members, to escape.

One of the escapees, identified as Suleiman Sidi, has been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Abuja.

It was gathered that the suspect is from Borno State, which is located in northeastern Nigeria.

While confirming the incident to the public via a statement, the Director of Media and Advocacy at NDLEA, Femi Babafemi, revealed that the escapee was apprehended in the early hours of Monday at Area 1 park in Abuja while trying to board a vehicle to Borno state. On searching the suspect, 3 wraps of cannabis were found on him.

During a preliminary interview with the culprit, he confirmed that he was among the Kuje jailbreak escapees and that he was detained for terrorism and armed robbery.

Recall that another escapee was apprehended a few days back.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of NDLEA, Buba Marwa, commended the effort of the officers and ordered the immediate handing over of the suspect to the Nigerian Correctional Service.
