Speaking further, Akeredolu asked if they want him to stay inside his house while someone come from nowhere and kill him there.

He said if they are pushed to the wall by terrorists, they will encourage their people to get guns, and that they are currently in talks with the traditional rulers in the state to get traditional powers, adding that nobody, state or country can continue to witness such level of insecurity.

Akeredolu said there is a problem if bandits can save their people from the government, and the government in turn cannot save the masses from bandits.

Is acquisition of arms and ammunition by citizens the solution to insecurity?
