Governor Imposes 24-Hour Curfew in Plateau’s Mangu Local Government Area

Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has announced a 24-hour curfew in the Mangu Local Government Area, effective immediately, due to the escalating security challenges in the region. The decision, disclosed in a statement by the governor’s Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, came after consultations with relevant security agencies.

Governor Mutfwang emphasized that only individuals engaged in essential duties are permitted to move within the local government area until further notice. He urged all citizens, particularly residents of Mangu, to adhere to the directive and collaborate with security personnel by providing credible information to restore peace and order.

Expressing concern over persistent efforts to disrupt peace, Governor Mutfwang conveyed his sympathies to the affected families and reassured them of the government’s unwavering commitment to achieving lasting peace in the state. He highlighted ongoing government initiatives to curb the activities of terrorist elements.

The governor pledged to review the curfew as soon as the security situation shows signs of improvement, underscoring the imperative of collective efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of Plateau State residents.
