The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has officially registered oil marketers to serve as its distributors, according to an announcement made by the Dangote Group on Tuesday.
In a press release issued on Tuesday, the Dangote Group revealed the registration of three prominent associations representing marketers in the Nigerian oil sector. These associations include the Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria, Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria, and Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria.
“The Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria, the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, and the Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria, which collectively constitute 75% of the total market in Nigeria, have been successfully registered,” stated the Dangote Group.
Furthermore, the statement mentioned that the Dangote Group is currently reviewing expressions of interest from other marketers who wish to collaborate with the refinery.
Earlier, on January 12, 2023, the Dangote Petroleum Refinery commenced the production of diesel and aviation fuel, as reported by The PUNCH. MOMAN and IPMAN were also noted to have registered as marketers for the products produced by the private refinery nationwide.
However, the Dangote Group has not disclosed the market availability date for the products, and there is no information regarding the commencement of Premium Motor Spirit production at this time.
