Anambra-based legal practitioner, Mrs. Adachukwu Chukelu-Okafor, who faced severe backlash for allegedly abusing her 10-year-old house help, has reportedly surrendered to the police.

Mrs. Okafor faced accusations of inflicting grievous harm on her housekeeper, including inserting a hot knife into the child’s private parts and burning her buttocks with a hot iron. A viral video displayed the child’s injuries, sparking outrage and prompting authorities to intervene.

Following her disappearance after the video surfaced, the Federal Government offered a two-million-naira bounty for information leading to her arrest. However, rumors suggest that Mrs. Okafor voluntarily presented herself to the Criminal Investigation Department of the Anambra State Police Command in Amawbia.

According to an anonymous source, Mrs. Okafor, accompanied by her lawyer, Barrister Chijioke Nwankwo, made her surrender on Thursday.

Efforts to confirm these reports from the State’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, were unsuccessful as calls and messages went unanswered.
