The reckless demolition which took place in Edoji Community in Nnewi, Nnewi North LGA of Anambra State is assuming different dimension as the leadership of ASUDEB refuse to claim credit for the demolition despite the ABS earlier report.
Edoji community which is the village of the two media giants news.band (elomba.com of elomba brothers) and bellnewsonline com (Ikedojbp.com of Sir Ikedoji) was invaded last week by some suspected unauthorized agents of the state government for a demolition exercise of which one of the victims Mrs Eucheria Ani is still in Coma following the demolition of the Enugu state born widows house.

Shortly after the demolition, ABS started publishing unsigned press release crediting the demolition to ASUDEB and quoting Barr. Chike Maduekwe; the Board Chairman Anambra Physical Planning Board as the authority behind the mayhem.
Moved with compassion for the poor widow and her son who almost committed suicide following the collapse of his mother, the management of bellnewsonline.com decided to lunch an independent investigation to know who authorised the demolition inside Edoji village; which is about the only remote village in Anambra State without a single government project save the last week demolition of which we now have on authority that the state governor; His Excellency Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo is also not aware.

bellnewsonline.com was shocked to the marrow when the board Chairman Anambra Physical Planning; Barr Chike Maduekwe told them on phone that he did not authorize the demolition and refered us to the Nnewi North LGA and the organ called task force. Inline with objective journalistic ethics, we decided to reach out to Chioma Ofoegbu who is the head of ASUDEB in Nnewi North LGA of Anambra State, to our greatest shock she told us that she has no power to order for demolition and claims almost near ignorance of what happened in Edoji. However, bellnewsonline.com pressured her to give us a name vis-a-vis who ordered the Edoji Demolition, she declined and we inquire if they have court order to that effect she also claimed ignorant of the existence of any court order. Recall that we have earlier pointed out in our first publication that the only lead we have on this demolition is Mr. Augustine Ekechukwu who contracted the company that came for the demolition; however, we will not be making the audio of the staff of the company who revealed this to us public in other to protect his job. However, he told us on phone that Mr. Augustine Ekechukwu did not tell them that they were coming to demolish a house built by a widow with her hard earned money.
These men invaded our community, descended on the security Chairman of Edoji , tore his cloths and he flee for safety.
In a joint press release issued by the leadership of Edoji Community which will be released shortly, the community condemned the invasion and described the demolition as the only government project in Edoji, while calling on the governor to arrest all those culprit involve in the scam called Maryland Estate, they cried out to the governor to construct at least one road in Edoji, because it will be the first tarred road since over seven hundred years their ancestors settled in Edoji.
