The Federal High Court sitting at Awka has sacked Hon. Ifeanyi Chudy Momah from the House of Representatives. In a judgment delivered today, 20th January 2023 in Suit No. FHC/AWK/CS/134/2022: Chief Maurice Ezebunanwa v. Hon. Ifeanyi Chudy Momah & Ors, the Court presided over by Hon. Justice H. A. Nganjiwa held that Hon. Momah ought to have vacated his position as Member representing Ihiala Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives since May 2022 when he resigned from APGA being the political party that sponsored his election to the House of Representatives in 2019 and joined the PDP.

The Court, while declaring the said seat as vacant, issued an injunction precluding Hon. Momah from continuing to parade himself as Member representing Ihiala Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and further ordered Hon. Momah to refund all salaries and other benefits he received since May 2022 when he ought to have vacated the said seat. The Court also ordered INEC to conduct a bye-election to fill the vacancy
