Adams Oshiomhole Reveals Plotters Behind His Removal as APC National Chairman

Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, has disclosed the individuals he claims plotted his removal from office within the ruling party. Oshiomhole pointed to former Governors Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti) and Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun), as well as Salihu Lukman, the former national vice chairman, North-west, as the key figures behind the campaign against him.

Speaking at the launch of Salihu Lukman’s book, “APC and Transition Politics,” in Abuja, Oshiomhole detailed the alleged efforts made by the governors to oust him. He accused the trio of orchestrating an “illegal” removal using various underhanded methods after he advocated for party supremacy.

According to Oshiomhole, Lukman authored numerous letters critical of his leadership without engaging him directly. He criticized the undemocratic appointment of Lukman by the governors’ forum, claiming that he was not consulted during the process.

Recounting a meeting with the governors, Oshiomhole expressed dissatisfaction with the venue, saying, “I felt as though I was in a military barrack.” He responded to the governors’ criticisms, asserting his experience as a two-term governor, emphasizing that some of them had not succeeded in securing re-election.
