Residents of Aba, Abia State and others Abians are full of praises for Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, the state Governor, for his bold and unwavering support for the presidential project of Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party, LP Presidential candidate after posters of “Peter Obi for President and Governor Ikpeazu for Senate, Abia South Senatorial District” flooded Aba and other parts of the state.
Governor Ikpeazu is widely seen as a very pivotal member of the G-5 Governors of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, with Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, who have distanced themselves from the Presidential project of the party’s candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
Abians see Ikpeazu’s support for Obi, the LP Presidential candidate as a welcome development that deserves commendation. Hon Chinasa Iheukwumere, a chieftain of the PDP in Aba South describes Ikpeazu’s support for Obi as “commend and patriotic”.
“Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s unwavering support for the Peter Obi Presidential project is commendable and patriotic.
“Saving Nigeria is a task that must be done and can only be done through the support of all patriotic Nigerians, regardless of party affiliations”.
In his statement, the Abia State Coordinator of Peter Obi Grassroots Movement, POGM, Comrade Chetachi Ikpe was full of praises for Dr Ikpeazu, the Abia State helms man: “Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, the Abia State Governor deserves accolades for his bold and consistent support for the Obidient Movement in Abia State.
He has always supported our principal, Mr. Peter Obi as well as our activities and rallies in Abia State, in all ramifications.
”I urge Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State to emulate Ikpeazu and join the Obidient bandwagon. If not, he will be the biggest loser because Obi’s Presidency is ordained by God and cannot be stopped by “petty domestic jealousy”.
“Come February 25th, 2023 Abians shall vote massively for Peter Obi, Governor Ikpeazu’s steady “Obidience” shall be justly rewarded by Abians by being elected as the Senator representing Abia South Senatorial District”.
