The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State is in mourning following the tragic loss of its State Legal Adviser, Barrister Jude Oguejiofor, who was kidnapped last month by gunmen during a routine visit to his hometown of Orsumoghu. His brother, a medical doctor, was also abducted but later released unharmed.
Barrister Oguejiofor, a native of Orsumoghu in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State, was among the 21 members of the Anambra PDP Caretaker Committee appointed by the National Working Committee of the party on January 17, 2024, and subsequently inaugurated. With over 15 years of legal practice, he was the principal partner at Jude Oguejiofor & Co. Law Firm in Nnewi before his untimely demise.
The Anambra PDP expressed deep sorrow over the brutal and senseless act committed by the assailants, highlighting Barrister Oguejiofor’s significant contributions to the progress and development of his community and the state. He was honored with the title of Ositadimma Orsumoghu in recognition of his service.
The party questioned what could have prompted such a heinous act against a man known for his good deeds and demanded urgent action from Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo to address the rampant insecurity in Ihiala LGA and across the state.
Furthermore, the Anambra State PDP directed all 21 local government party offices to fly their flags at half-mast in honor of the slain Legal Adviser. They also called on party members and the people of Anambra to keep Barrister Oguejiofor’s grieving family in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
