Most people must have heard stories of mythical sword that nobody has been able to pull out from the ground for years, but most people do not know that some of these stories are real.
There is a sword in Africa that has been inserted into the ground for many years and nobody has been able to pull it out.
The sword I am talking about is the Okomfo Anokye sword which is located in Accra Ghana.
The Okomfo Anokye sword which is commonly called the unmovable sword is a sword that is located in Ashanti, Ghana.
According to researchers the Okomfo Anokye sword was named after the fetish Priest who inserted it into the ground.
Okomfo Anokye was a strong priest who hails from Ashanti Ghana, he love unity and he fought for the Unity of the Ashanti people. Okomfo Anokye was very popular during the 17th to 18th century.
Okomfo Anokye used his magical powers to fight lots of war for the Ashanti people, and he want them to always be United so he inserted the sword into the ground as a symbol of their strength and unity.
He also decreed that if the sword is pulled out the unity that exists between the Ashanti people will be destroyed.
When a elderly man from the Ashanti kingdom in Ghana named Oduro was asked about the sword, he said
“The Okomfo Anokye sword is the symbol of the unity and strength of the Ashanti people, if it is pulled out the unity that exists between us will be destroyed”.
The Okomfo Anokye sword has been inserted into the ground for more than 300 years and nobody has been able to remove it.
A lot of people have tried to pull it out but they couldn’t. Even the colonial masters tried to remove it but they couldn’t.
A famous boxer named Muhammad Ali who passed away years ago has also tried to pull it out but he also failed.
It is also said that Okomfo Anokye locked the sword spiritually and that’s why no one has been able to pull it out.
The sword which is over 333 years old can be found in Komfo Anokye teaching hospital in Kumasi, Ghana. The place where the sword is located in Ghana is a tourist center, and people visit it on daily basis to see the sword.
