“Nigeria’s President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu returns to Abuja today after weeks of a well-deserved vacation in France,” Onanuga said in a terse statement.
It would be recalled that Tinubu traveled to Europe since March.
In a statement at the time, his media office said the incoming president travelled to Paris to rest and prepare for lesser hajj in Saudi Arabia and the 2023 Ramadan fasting.
Tinubu’s spokespersons added that the president-elect would also use the opportunity, while he is out of the country, to plan his transition programme.
Meanwhile, Tinubu did not later travel to Saudi Arabia as initially planned.
The latest development will lay to rest the speculation as to the whereabouts of the president-elect.
The 71-year-old is expected to be sworn in as Nigeria’s new leader on May 29.
