With barely 4 days to the General Election in Nigeria, the (TC) Transition Committee Chairman of Nnewi North LGA of Anambra State, Hon. Engr. Chris Obiorah has appealed for peace and calmness before, during and after the election. He made this clear yesterday at the Eneta Edo venue of the visit of the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, who came to canvass for votes for his Party’s Candidates and to inspect some ongoing projects in the Local Government Area. In his words:”The election will go free and fair and I make an appeal for peace before, during and after the election. As for Security, the Governor has made adequate security available for us. The state is fully secured and there is no cause for alarm. I enjoin everyone to maintain the peace and come out enmass to vote.
They should conduct themselves in a peaceful and orderly manner and not foment any trouble. Nnewi is known for peace and civilized behavior. We should not allow anything or anyone to breach the peaceful atmosphere we enjoy in this Local Government Area. I advice trouble makers to steer clear of Nnewi as Security Agencies are everywhere to deal with any act of hooliganism .
I appeal for peace and calmness. Whatever we are doing is to the glory of God. Thank you.”
