In the wake of the outrage that greeted the recent spike in security threats in several parts of the country, Akeredolu the current governor of Ondo state, Senior Advocate of Nigeria, and former president of the Nigerian Bar Association, Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu while speaking during an interview with the Channels Television made it known that the government are treating terrorism with kid gloves.
While speaking with the press, the outstanding politician stated that nobody is an island of knowledge to know how to tackle the issue of insecurity, but one thing is certain based on what we have seen and experienced, terrorism will continue to be a challenge if we keep handling it with kid gloves, and that is what the Nigerian government is doing today.
Further speaking, Akeredolu said we don’t expect things to change when we keep handling the terrorists with kid gloves, adding that if Nigeria can learn how other countries handle issues of terrorism, it will go a long way in tackling insecurity.
He also said that terrorists are not to be taking in as prisoners, if you want to deal with them do so, don’t take them in as prisoners, if terrorists are dealt with, they will run far away from the country.
