Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, has claimed that Iyorchia Ayu, the PDP’s national chairman, is a swindler who used his swindling act to received N1 billion from a presidential contender in Lagos while working to promote Atiku Abubakar as the party’s nominee.

In a media discussion that was televised on Friday, Mr. Wike brought up a recent outburst. Because the governors of the party were unwilling to provide financial support for the party, the Rivers governor accused Mr. Ayu of getting the aforementioned sum.

“Ayu is deceitful. Mention me. I am the governor of Rivers State and a lawyer “Wike made a claim. “Can Ayu claim he didn’t swindle Lagos out of one billion naira?” Before the primary elections, he informed one of the PDP’s candidates for president that the governors were not prepared to provide party funding.

Mr. Wike claimed to be familiar with “how the money was set up and those responsible for packaging the money. He received $1 billion. The governor said, “Let him come out and tell Nigerians it is not true, and I will divulge more.”

At the PDP primary election in May, Mr. Wike was defeated by former vice president Atiku Abubakar for the party’s presidential nomination. He charged Mr. Ayu of orchestrating the defeat by asking other candidates to withdraw in favor of Mr. Atiku.

Because some party officials have been awarded positions in a government that won’t be formed until after the election, he emphasized that the way the party is now set up is terrible.

Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo, and Mr. Wike have been steadfast in their demand that Mr. Ayu be removed from office. They claim it would make up for the “injustice” done to the South.

The governor contests the notion that his recent outbursts against the party were motivated by resentment at not receiving the presidential nomination.

His one regret, he remarked, was that he wouldn’t be able to address insecurity the way he had intended.

“I regret not being given the chance to engage in bandit combat. I regret not having the chance to combat oil theft “added Mr. Wike.
