David Umahi, governor of Ebonyi state, has asked President-elect Bola Tinubu to include Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers, in his administration.
Umahi said Wike, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has a lot to offer to Tinubu who contested the presidential election on the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform.
The Ebonyi governor spoke on Monday at an event hosted by Wike in Obio-Akpor LGA of Rivers.
Umahi said there is no way the story of the 2023 general election can be told without mentioning Wike.
“I thank God Almighty who had enacted that Asiwaju(Tinubu) and (Kashim) Shettima will win,” the senator-elect said.
“Look at the process of God, Tinubu was courageous and Shettima. God, directly and indirectly, made Governor Wike very much available, and there is no way you can conclude about the success of the election without mentioning Governor Wike.
“We will be asking Asiwaju and Shettima to please bring Governor Wike to the core administration of the federal government. He has a lot to offer.
“He has a lot to offer for the unity of the country. It is not all about party now, it is about the unity of the country, it is how to move this country forward and reunite our people.”
Umahi said any politician who hopes to win in Rivers state without Wike is joking.
“Our people want performance, if you have performed as a governor, the people will stand with you,” he said.
Tinubu polled 231,591 votes in Rivers state to defeat Atiku Abubakar, PDP standard bearer, and Peter Obi, flag bearer of the Labour Party (LP), in the presidential election.
While Obi polled 175,071 votes, Atiku scored 88,468
