In a statement released on Monday by his spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu expressed his pride in the achievements of Nigerian artists Davido, Burna Boy, Ayrastarr, Olamide, Asake, and Tems, despite their loss at the recently concluded 66th Grammy Awards.

While acknowledging that none of the nominees clinched the category they were nominated for, the president emphasized his admiration for their contributions to the Nigerian cultural landscape.

Tinubu praised the musical talents for placing Nigeria prominently on the global stage through their creativity and impactful music, citing their role in enhancing the nation’s soft power worldwide.

Furthermore, the president lauded the artists for their dedication to their craft, highlighting their courage, audacity, and commitment to excellence in the face of challenges.

“Our Grammy-nominated superstars are champions in their own right. I take great pride in their accomplishments. They embody the Nigerian spirit—determination to succeed against all odds and a commitment to staying true to their artistic vision. I congratulate and appreciate them for being outstanding ambassadors of Nigeria,” President Tinubu remarked.

Despite the loss in the “Best African Music Performance” category to South African singer Tyla for her 2023 track “Water,” Tinubu commended the nominees for their remarkable contributions to the music industry.
