Senator George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), has issued a stern warning against the unauthorized use of his office for issuing counterfeit appointments to the public. In a statement released on Sunday by Mr. Segun Imohiosen, the Head of Information at the Office of the SGF, Senator Akume expressed concern about fraudulent activities where unscrupulous individuals exploit his office to deceive unsuspecting members of the public.
Akume debunked the circulating misinformation on various platforms, including social media, emails, and text messages. The deceptive messages encourage individuals to submit their Curriculum Vitae for a fee to a non-existent desk within the SGF’s office. The SGF clarified that the misinformation falsely implicated the former Director of Information, Willie Bassey, and involved fraudulent contacts such as Aliyu Isah at +234 9168487156, +234 8035557865, and email address draliyu95@gmail.com.
The general public is urged to exercise caution and be vigilant against such deceitful activities, disregarding any information suggesting the submission of personal details for appointments through unofficial channels. Akume emphasized that any official inquiries or clarifications should be directed through the official communication channels of the Office of the SGF at www.osgf.gov.ng and info@osgf.gov.ng.
Senator Akume sternly warns those engaged in propagating fraudulent requests to immediately cease exploiting the SGF’s office for fraudulent activities. Offenders are cautioned to desist promptly or face legal consequences for their actions. This warning follows a previous alert issued earlier in the month to raise awareness among the public.
