Security forces loyal to the Imo state government, Saturday, allegedly set the Eke Ututu market in Orsu local government area of the state on fire.
Although the Imo Police command could not confirm why it was set on fire as at the time of filing this report, a video which went viral on social media showed that part of the market was razed as shop owners battled to save the situation and pick up their wares.
As the people were pouring water on the inferno to quench it, they were accusing the governor of the state of having a hand in the incident, vowing that it would not be well with those who carried out the dastardly act.
The video also showed a dead body, aged between 25 and 30, lying on the floor of the market, whose chest was riddled with bullets.
Sympathizers said the innocent young man was brought out from his house while in boxers and was shot dead.
