Rivers United’s youth squad clinched victory in the debut edition of the Nigerian Premier Football Youth League, triumphing over Katsina United’s youth team with a score of 4-2 at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, Edo State.

Following the conclusion of the youth tournament, football analysts have singled out David Benjamin and Seiyefa Jackson as standout players to keep an eye on, owing to their exceptional performances throughout the competition.

Okey Kpalukwu, the general manager of Rivers United, lauded the team’s achievement, attributing the success to the club’s commitment to nurturing young talents from grassroots levels. Having steered Rivers United to victory in the 2022 NPFL, Kpalukwu expressed confidence in the potential of the club’s burgeoning talent pool, pledging support to help them realize their footballing aspirations.

In a parallel development, Rivers United’s senior team is poised to square off against Dreams FC of Ghana in their final group stage encounter of the CAF Confederation Cup. Ahead of this crucial fixture, Kpalukwu emphasized the team’s determination to secure a win, asserting their collective resolve to represent the nation with distinction.

“We are all unified in our pursuit at Rivers United, and our objective is clear: to emerge victorious against Dreams in Uyo and bring joy to the hearts of Nigerians,” remarked Kpalukwu in an interview with BSN Sports.
