The drivers employed by Primero Transport Services Limited, one of the operators of the Lagos State Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system, have returned to work after initiating a strike on Saturday due to the non-payment of their December salaries.

As of Monday morning, the buses were observed back in operation, indicating a successful resolution of the dispute that led to the industrial action. The customer service department of Primero TSL confirmed on Monday that the issues prompting the strike had been addressed.

In a telephone interview with The PUNCH, Mutiu Yekeen, the Head of Corporate Communications at Primero TSL, emphasized the company’s commitment to prioritizing the welfare of its drivers. He clarified that the drivers’ welfare is given precedence, with timely payment of salaries and additional allowances. Yekeen also highlighted that outstanding performers among the drivers receive monthly rewards as part of the company’s commitment to their well-being.
