President Bola Tinubu is set to embark on another foreign travel, just days after returning from France.

The Nigerian leader will be heading to China for a state visit in the first week of September.

During his visit, President Tinubu will attend the 2024 Forum on China–Africa Cooperation.

Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, announced the trip at a press conference at the Presidential Villa on Tuesday.

According to Ngelale, the China engagement is part of the present administration’s efforts to improve the wellbeing of Nigerians.

During the visit, President Tinubu is expected to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping, where several Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) will be signed.

In addition to the presidential meeting, President Tinubu will also engage with ten Chief Executive Officers of Chinese companies in key sectors such as oil and gas, aluminum production, agriculture, and satellite technology.

Tinubu returned to the country from France on Friday, a day before he swore in the new Chief Justice of Nigeria, Kudirat Kekere-Ekun.
