Nasir El-Rufai, the son of Kaduna State Governor, has generated outrage online after claiming to know who President Muhammadu Buhari’s anointed candidate is.
Bashir El-Rufai said in a post on his official Twitter account on Friday, which was also published by, that he knows who Buhari has chosen as the next President and Vice President, and that it’s a piece of confidential knowledge that he can’t disclose even if he’s offered $10 million.
-he wrote “I’m aware of Baba Buhari’s anointed candidate and Vice President. Unfortunately, this is classified information that I cannot and will not reveal, even if paid $10 million.”
Bashir’s comments come only days after President Buhari announced he wanted to pick his own candidate and requested the APC governors to back him up.
According to BELLNEWS, President Buhari told APC governors during a meeting with them at the State House a few days ago: “In keeping with the established internal policies of the party, and as we approach the convention in a few days, therefore, I wish to solicit the reciprocity and support of the governors and other stakeholders in picking my successor, who will fly the flag of our party for election into the office of the President of the Republic of Nigeria.”
