Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has formally presented the report on the explosion that occurred last Tuesday at Dejo Oyelese Close, Adeyi Avenue, Bodija, Ibadan, to President Bola Tinubu. The presentation took place at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja, over the weekend, as stated in a release by Sulaimon Olanrewaju, the Special Adviser to the Oyo State Governor on Media.
President Tinubu had earlier expressed condolences to the government and people of Oyo State after the tragic incident and directed the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to collaborate with the Oyo State Government for immediate and comprehensive relief efforts for the victims.
In response to the president’s directive, Governor Makinde visited the Aso Rock Villa to provide the report on the incident. President Tinubu had urged relevant government agencies to swiftly investigate and uncover the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
Governor Makinde expressed gratitude to the Presidency for its support and assured that the Oyo State government is committed to providing assistance to the victims and ensuring that those responsible for the tragedy are identified and held accountable.
