Kidnapped Wife of Slain Kwara Monarch, Others Freed

The abducted wife of the late Olukoro of Koro Ekiti in Kwara State, General Segun Aremu-Cole (retd), along with two others, have been reported to have regained their freedom.

According to sources, they were released late on Monday.

“The latest update from our community confirms the safe return of Olori and the other individual, who arrived in Koro approximately 30 minutes ago,” said Chief Samuel Ayobola, the Asiwaju of Koro, speaking to the National Pilot.

The monarch was tragically killed by the kidnappers as he was about to have his dinner on February 1, 2024.

The assailants stormed the palace around 9 pm, resulting in the death of the monarch. Subsequently, they abducted his wife and two others from the palace.

Initially, the abductors demanded a ransom of N100 million, which was later reduced to N40 million.
