The legal teams representing both the prosecution and defence in the treasonable felony trial of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), have undergone changes, gearing up for the upcoming proceedings.
Adegboyega Awomolo now leads the prosecuting team, stepping in for David Kaswe from the Federal Ministry of Justice. Meanwhile, P. A. M. Ejiofor has taken over as the head of the defence team, replacing Mike Ozekhome (SAN).
These developments follow the dismissal of Ifeanyi Ejiofor and other members of the separatist movement who had been actively involved in the case. Nnamdi Kanu, currently held in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS), has been brought to court this morning in anticipation of the trial’s resumption.
