Sheikh Aminuddeen Ibrahim Daurawa, the Commander-General of the Kano Hisbah Board, has tendered his resignation from his position.

In a video posted on his social media platform, Daurawa announced his decision, pointing to the discouragement he encountered from Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, as the primary reason for his departure.

Expressing disappointment, Daurawa highlighted the governor’s remarks despite his relentless efforts to uphold societal morality as the Commander of Hisbah.

He stated, “I am currently in Kaduna State, engaging with lawmakers led by the Speaker to discuss the implementation of mandatory pre-marital health checks in Kano, a measure akin to those in other Nigerian states. However, I have faced discouraging comments from Kano, despite my endeavors at Hisbah to promote societal decency.”

Daurawa emphasized his active engagement with Kannywood and TikTok celebrities, providing guidance and financial assistance to some TikTokers. He also extended advice to others, observing that those who disregarded their guidance faced consequences.

Expressing regret for his frustration, Daurawa apologized to the Governor for any offense caused and announced his resignation from the Hisbah position bestowed upon him. He wished the Governor success in his leadership endeavors.

Governor Yusuf had expressed concerns about the implementation of Hisbah’s ‘Operation Kau da Badala’ in the state. This initiative by Hisbah aims to combat immorality and uphold Islamic values by ensuring societal order and decency.
