Asari Dokubo gives reason why he won’t support Biafra agitation again.
A former leader of a Niger Delta militant group, Asari Dokubo, has given reasons he prefer today’s Nigeria to the current struggle by Nnamdi Kanu for independent state of Biafra.
According to the former militant leader, he prefers to be with President Buhari-led government than the ongoing Biafran struggle because of what he described as carnage and monumental genocide being perpetrated by Nnamdi Kanu’s foot soldiers across the Eastern region.
Asari Dokubo was reacting to the ongoing incessant killings across the entire South East by the armed group popularly referred to as Unknown Gunmen.
He disclosed this in a Facebook Live on Thursday and said in a bid to protect River State, he had to chase Nnamdi Kanu’s armed militia organization, the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra from the oil rich State.
He said: “Let it be known that today, I will prefer to be with Buhari than the Biafra of this carnage, Biafra of this monumental genocide being committed by Nnamdi Kanu’s hirelings all over Igboland.
“I stopped them in Rivers State, I chased them out. I have pursued them to their hideouts, and I’m chasing them out.”
Asari Dokubo who had in several occasions openly declared his support for the presidential candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu said Nnamdi Kanu’s approach to self determination is against international principle and rule of law.
This is because of the increasing killings and wanton destruction of properties being allegedly perpetrated by Unknown Gunmen in the South East.
Two days ago, policemen who were at their point of duty at New Haven area of Enugu capital were attacked by the unknown Gunmen who came in a Toyota Sienna and opened fire on them leading to the death of three policemen.
