Bishop David Oyedepo, the General Overseer of the Living Faith Church Worldwide spoke to his members at Covenant Hour of Prayer, 23rd July 2022.
He spoke about Discipline and said that Discipline is a covenant requirement for anyone to win the prize.
He then told them that they should do what they have never done this last week.
“Let your desperation move to the highest temperature and watch what it means to press to the end. On the altar of prayer, I press.
In the passionate pursuit of souls, I press. Ensuring that new converts are established in the faith,” he said.
According to him, “Don’t let anyone discourage you. I am not spending your money so what is your problem? “No, it is too much”. Who told you? My husband said it is okay, are you part of my budget?” He then warned them that there are those folks who are hanging around that are going nowhere, so you have to better be careful of them. They are just having fun with religion, they are going nowhere.
He said that he is blessed to have the wife that God has given him because he has never heard it is too much. “You just need to come near my life and know if the things I do are too much or too little,” he said.
However this means that if you want to win the prize, you have to be able to Sacrifice things for God. It is very important.
He then read from 1 Corinthians 6:12 and said that some things are allowed but it is not expedient. Not all things edify so I go to what builds up, what adds value to me.
Keep your body under if you must win the race. Engage in the required rigorous activities if you must win the race. Prize winners are essentially highly disciplined people.
They know what they are out for so they pay the price to get it. Only those who are committed to pressing ever win the prize.
