As the 2023 election approaches, a top member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Femi Fani-Kayode, has said that Bola Tinubu will “clear” the North-Central and Northwest geopolitical zones.
Fani-Kayode, a former Minister of Aviation, said this in a recent interview with Arise Television, monitored by Bell de.
He said: “We will win hands down in the southwest. When it gets to the North-Central, we will win hands down in Kogi State where we have ‘The White Lion’ (Governor Yahaya Bello).
“When it comes to Niger State, we have people like Senator Sani Musa and Abubakar Sani Bello, the governor. We will win hands down there. Nasarawa, hands down there. Kwara State, hands down. We will clear the whole of the South.
“We will clear at least 70% of the states in the North-Central.
“Go to the Northeast, Borno is ours because our vice (Kashim Shettima) comes from there.
“Yobe is ours because we have a great governor there. Gombe is ours. Bauchi is coming to us as well because I know the governor (Bala Mohammed) and I know very well that he is not happy with the way in which Atiku (Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP) has behaved and he will go wherever Muhammadu Buhari tells him to go, and he has said so publicly.
“Go to the Northwest, is it Kaduna that we would lose? With our El-Rufai (Nasir) there and Uba Sani as our governorship candidate? We will trounce them there?
“Is it Katsina we will lose? With Buhari there? Is it Zamfara we are going to lose?
“We may lose one or two, but I will tell you what, even in Sokoto State, with Aliyu Wamakko’s work, there’ll be a shocker.”
