Former Chef of Ambode Accused of Stealing Properties Worth Millions from Ex-Governor

It has been reported that Ambode’s former chef, Abayomi, has been brought before the Yaba Magistrate court by the State Security Service (SSS) on charges of conspiracy and theft.

According to PUNCH, during Abayomi’s arraignment, the prosecuting counsel from the SSS, Joshua Babalola, informed the court that the suspect, along with others who are still at large, conspired and committed the offences at the residence of the former governor in Ikoyi.

Babalola stated that the defendant fled to Old Garage, Molorundo Local Government Area, Osun State, where he was apprehended on March 7, 2024.

The prosecutor noted that the offences committed contravene Sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

In her ruling, the magistrate ordered that Abayomi be remanded for 30 days at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre and adjourned the case until April 8, 2024, for further investigation and presentation of facts.

Ambode: Nigeria’s Economic Hardship Predates Tinubu’s Administration

Meanwhile, Ambode has asserted that Nigeria’s economic challenges did not originate with President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Ambode emphasized that the country has a long history of economic crises.

He made these remarks at the Akinjide Adeosun Foundation (AAF) 2024 Leadership Colloquium and Award: Chapter 8, themed ‘Economic Asphyxiation–The Wisdom of Authentic Leaders’, held at Alliance Francaise in Ikoyi.

The former governor highlighted that Nigeria’s issues have persisted over time and stressed the need for a courageous President like Tinubu to address them decisively.
