Fire Outbreak Reported At Popular Lagos Warehouse

The warehouse of a popular logistics company in Ikeja, Lagos has been gutted by fire destroying property worth millions.

According to The Vanguard, the warehouse belongs to a bottling company on Sapara Street, off Oba Akran Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos.

As of the time of the report, there has been no confirmation of damages from the fire outbreak and no casualties have also been recorded.

The incident, according to an eyewitness, occurred at about 08:58 am, on Sunday. Eyewitnesses also mentioned that the presence of distilled volatile products (ethanol in chemical compound) in the premises may have caused the outbreak.

The volatile products were stored in combustible bottles within a large expanse of the warehouse block in Ikeja.

When contacted, Director, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Magret Adeseye, said the raging fire has been curtailed by the Lagos fire crew from Ikeja, Alausa and Bolade units.

“We prevented the fire from spreading beyond the store’s compound.

“The ongoing Firefighting operations is devoid of any casualty thus far,” Adeseye confirmed.
